Trademarks

Filing Requirements:

1.   Simply signed power of attorney.

2.   A list of goods/services and the classes pertaining thereto.

3.   Full particulars of the applicant.

4.   Nine prints of the trademark, if in color. If black and white, one print will be sufficient.

Renewal Requirement:

1.   Simply signed power of attorney.

2.   Copy of the trademark registration certificate. 

Assignment Requirement:

1.   Simply signed power of attorney by the assignee.

2.   Deed of Assignment duly executed by the assignor and assignee in its original or duly certified copy thereof.

Kindly note the following points:

1.   Time frame from filing up to registration is about 54 months.

2.   Opposition period is for 2 months after publication in the Official Gazette.

3.   Trademarks are registered for 7 years and renewed for 14 years.

Patents

Filing Requirements:

1.   Simply signed power of attorney.

2.   Two copies of the patent.

3.   Full name, address, and nationality of the applicant, the inventor, and his representative.

4.   The title of the invention must be brief and exact and show the object of the invention.

5.   Priority document if priority to be claimed.
