Filing Requirements:

1.   A Power of Attorney duly legalized up to the Consulate of Iraq.

2.   The name, address and nationality of the applicant.

3.   8 copies of the summary of the invention in English with the Arabic translation.

4.   8 copies of the specifications and claims in English with the Arabic translation.

5.   8 sets of the drawings, if any.

Renewal Requirement:

1.   Power of attorney duly legalized up to the Iraqi Consulate. The power of attorney must be legalized and the legalization stamp must appear on the back of the power sheet itself, otherwise the registrar will reject the power of attorney.

2.   Copy of the trademark registration certificate.

Assignment Requirement:

1.   A power of attorney duly legalized up to the Consulate of Iraq. The power of attorney must be legalized and the legalization stamp must appear on the back of the power sheet itself, otherwise the registrar will reject the power of attorney.

2.   A legalized deed of assignment signed by both the assignor and the assignee, and two photo static copies of the same. 

Kindly note the following points:

1.   Time frame from filing up to registration is about 24-30 months.

2.   Trademarks are registered for 15 years and renewable for another 15 years.

3.   Opposition period is for 3 months from publication.

Patents

Filing Requirements:

2.   The power of attorney must be stamped and sealed by the applicant company.

3.   Eight copies of specifications, claims and drawings in English and Arabic.

4.   Certified copy of the priority document legalized up to the Iraqi Consulate priority to be claimed.

5.   Assignment deed from the inventor(s) duly legalized up to the Iraqi Consulate, in case the applicant is not the inventor himself.

Designs

Filing Requirements:

2.   Nationality, name, address and occupation of the applicant.
