Trademarks

Filing Requirements:

1.  Simply signed power of attorney.

2.  Ten prints of the mark not exceeding (5cm x 5cm)

3.  Certified copy of the basic registration if priority to be claimed.

4.  The name, Address, Nationality of the applicant and nature of business of the applicant

5.  The list of goods and classes to be covered by the application

Renewal Requirement:

1.  Simply signed power of attorney.

2.  Printing blocks and prints of the trademark.

Assignment Requirement:

1.  Simply signed and sealed power of attorney by the assignee.

2.  Deed of assignment executed by both parties and legalized up to the Moroccan Consulate.

Kindly note the following points:

1.  Time frame from filing up to registration is about 3 months.

2.  Trademarks are registered for 10 years and renewable for another 10 years.

3.  No opposition period in Morocco.

Patents

Filing Requirements:

1.  Simply signed power of attorney by the applicant.

2.  Specification & claims in French language.

3.  Formal drawings.

4.  Priority assignment document simply signed by the inventor(s) if the applicant and the

     inventor(s) are not the same (enclosed is a form).

5.  Priority document if there is any.

6.  Certificate of guarantee if the  invention is subject of international exhibitions or if it is

     officially known.

Designs

Filing Requirements:

1.  Power of attorney simply signed by the applicant.

2.  Three representations of the model or design.

3.  Certificate of guarantee if the model or design is subject of international exhibitions or if it

     is officially known.

4.  Certified copy of the home registration if priority is to be claimed.

5.  Payment of official fees.

6.  Authorization for trademarks that reproduce effigies, armorial bearings, and initials.
