Trademarks

Filing Requirements:

1.   Simply signed power of attorney.

2.   Certified copy of the priority document if claimed.

3.   Five prints of the trademark.

4.   List of goods and/or services covered by the application in French.

Renewal Requirement:

1.   Simply signed power of attorney.

2.   Number, date and list of the goods of the trademark registration.

Assignment & Merger Requirement:

1.   Simply signed power of attorney by the assignee.

2.   Legalized deed of the assignment.

3.   Legalized certificate of merger.

Kindly note the following points:

1.   Time frame from filing up to registration is about 12-14 months.

2.   Trademarks are registered for 10 years and renewable for another 10 years.

Patents

Filing Requirements:

1.   Simply signed power of attorney.

2.   Three sets of the formal drawings.

3.   Three copies of the specification in French.

4.   Certified copy of the basic application is required when filing a convention application. The priority document should be submitted within 90 days as from the date of application.

Designs

Filing Requirements:

1.   Simply signed power of attorney.

2.   Four copies of the inscription (if necessary).

3.   Four representations (photocopies, photographs or drawings) of the design.
